Get Internet On PSP - It Really Can Be Done, And In Five Simple Steps

Did you know you can use your PSP to pick up free wireless internet? Most people don’t even realize this but it’s pretty straightforward once you know how! Sit back and relax while you learn to get internet on your PSP!

Requirements: There are a couple of fundamental things you will need before you can start surfing the web with your PSP. The first is some form of wireless internet source. It doesn’t matter where it comes from, could be in your home or in your local Starbucks, all that matters is that you are in an area where you can get internet. PSP wireless settings follow the 802.11b wireless networking protocols, which are just about the most common in the world, so most kinds of wireless network connection will be just fine. Also note that a copy of Wipeout:Pure is necessary to get internet on your PSP.

Sitting comfortably? Ok, prepare to learn how to get internet on PSP!

Step 1- Switch on the PSP and go to the System Menu, and then enter “Network Settings”. From there go into “Infrastructure mode”, and select a connection to edit. If you already have a home connection set up or something, just select this as the one you are going to edit. Leave the name of the profile as it is, and skip the WLAN settings if they are already set up.

Step2- Go into “Address Settings” click on “Custom” and be sure to leave “IP Address Setting” as Automatic. Believe me; adjusting this will not help you get internet on your PSP!

Step 3- Go into “DNS Setting” and click on manual. This is where we need to type the address of the web gateway we will be using. The most popular one to use for this is the gateway at Endgadget, so input the numbers “208.42.28.174” as the Primary DNS IP, and put zeros for the Secondary DNS IP. (0.0.0.0). If for any reason this gateway is not working you can usually find others with a quick Google search.

Step 4- In the “Proxy Server” options, select “Do Not Use” All you need to do from there is confirm everything, and save it all by pushing X when prompted.

Step 5- Launch Wipeout:Pure as normal, and go into the Downloads menu. When asked to select a connection, choose the one you have just been editing, and you should be presented with the Endgadget web screen. Et voila! How to get internet on PSP!

Provided you have the resource mentioned above, it’s pretty easy to get internet on your PSP. Once you have it all set up you’ll probably wonder how you got by without it!

Downgrade PSP

"Downgrade Psp?" you ask, what the heck is that? Well if you have had your Psp for a little while now you might have heard of a downgrade or downgrading you Psp. When referring to a downgrade you are talking about returning your PSP firmware to an earlier version which has exploits that certain smart people could take advantage of, in this case we are talking about firmware version 1.50.

When Sony found out that there were exploits that could enable people to play games that weren't released by Sony themselves they released Firmware Updates (this was known as Upgrading your PSP) in the hope that this would make PSP users only purchase Sony UMD Games and Sony UMD Movies. Much to the annoyance of Sony once they started releasing firmware updates people started to try and find ways to hack the firmware so they could return the PSP back to a 1.50 which would once again allow them to play other games.

These other games and applications are known as "Homebrew" and are developed by programmers who want to release these games and applications free of charge to other PSP users around the world. This is the big attraction of a PSP Downgrade and is why people take the risk of downgrading their PSP. Currently there are 100's if not 1000's of homebrew games and applications available to download for free. Not only are there homebrew games available for the PSP user who has gone through the PSP Downgrade process but there are also 1000's of "old school" games that you can play on you downgraded PSP, games like Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers and more.

"So can you downgrade any PSP?", well at the time of writing you can downgrade any PSP that is firmware version 3.03 and below, this includes PSP's with the TA-082 motherboards which up until a short time ago were not able to be downgraded with ease. Unfortunately those with a PSP that is higher than 3.03 cannot downgrade as of yet but it is only expected to be a matter of time before a downgrader is made for those particular models.

All you have to do if you have one of the PSP's that can be downgraded is find the correct downgrader. You must make sure that you use the correct downgrader or you risk bricking (rendering inoperable) your PSP. Once you have found the appropriate software to downgrade it, make sure you follow the instructions exactly as they are printed. If you do not follow those instructions exactly you will again brick your PSP. Once you brick your PSP your only option is to get it Mod-Chipped which would cost you around $100 or use it as a rather expensive paperweight.

The benefits of doing a PSP downgrade are numerous, the free games and applications, the DVD collection that you can back up and watch on you PSP all make the risk worth the reward.

We suggest you find out how to downgrade your PSP today!

PSP Emulator And Game - Your Quick Guide

PSP emulator and game are some of the best things you can do with your PSP. The PSP is a great gaming system, and one things that make it so cool is the fact that it’s pretty easy to download and use emulators and games with it. What could be better than playing Double Dragon and Castlevania on your PSP?

It’s not as simple to use PSP emulator and game as you first think. I thought it would be a case of putting the games on the memory stick and launching them, but it’s not. Before you do anything you will need some kind of emulator software. This will tell your PSP how to behave like another system so you can use the games from the other system. There are thousands and thousands of places to obtain software like this, but sadly many of the websites are a little dubious, and may well give you some kind of virus or give you something that may damage your PSP. There are some reputable places that can be trusted though, and you’ll find more on them a little further down.

If you manage to get a PSP emulator and game in one place, well done-in most cases you will need to get them from separate sites. The game files for an emulator are called a rom, and there are many ROM sites online. The main problem with downloading PSP emulator and game is a legal one-mane old games are still copyrighted, meaning that if you download it without paying you can get in a whole lot of trouble. Some manufacturers though have made it legal for you to download their emulators and games by putting them into the public domain. An excellent loophole with this is that if you already own a legal copy of the game, you are allowed to have backups-so if there is an old SNES game you still own but would like to play on PSP, you could be okay!

As a quick note, when using PSP emulator and game, you will find that some firmwares do not allow you to use emulators. It’s possible to downgrade your PSP firmware, and generally speaking you are best off with an earlier one.

As I mentioned earlier, the hardest thing about PSP emulator and game is that finding reliable sources can be a struggle. Generally you can lump the sites into one of 3 groups-

Free Sites-These sites are free for a reason-noone would pay for their services! Expect poor choice of games and emulators, broken software, spyware, slow downloads and downloads that aren’t what they claimed. Good luck if you go with these guys!

Scam Membership sites-These sites claim to be free but then try and charge you cash for each download. I avoid these because I’m not too keen on paying again for a game I had on Genesis in 1992.

Genuine Membership sites- These guys are generally the best place to go for PSP emulator and game. There IS a charge-but it’s usually pretty small, and not only will it give you access to all the great condition emulator stuff you ever wanted, in most cases you will get to download as many free PSP games as you want also. I go with sites like this for my emulator stuff, and I would recommend them. The world of PSP emulator and game is not as simple as it first seems, so these pointers should see you through!

How To Put Videos On PSP In 4 Simple Steps

Sony’s little wonder machine is a real jack of all trades in the electronic entertainment field-there really isn’t too much that it can’t do but I’ve noticed that out of all my friends that have PSP’s, not one person uses it for movies! I found this a little odd, until I realised that none of them know how to do it! It’s not as hard as people seem to think so hopefully once you’ve read this article you’ll know how to put videos on PSP, and I can get my friends to look at this article instead of asking me questions all the time!

The first thing that stops most people from finding out how to put videos on PSP is they don’t have enough free memory-You are going to need to buy as big a memory stick as you can afford-512mb is going to be the bare minimum here.

The second essential is to have a computer handy which you can link to the PSP via a USB cable. An internet connection will be useful too, but is not essential unless there are things you need to download.

1-Connect the computer and the PSP together, making sure that the PSP is switched off to begin with, and switch the PSP on once the connection is made.

2-With the PSP go into the SETTINGS menu, and press X, which should link the PSP to the computer. If you then go into MY COMPUTER on the computer, you should see an extra volume has been attached. This is the PSP/Playstation Portable.

3-Open the PSP memory card and then open the folder called PSP. With this open you need to create another folder inside that one, this one called “MP_ROOT” and then another one called “100mnv01”

4-Save the movies you want to watch in the folder “100mnv01” and then you are ready to rock! The movies can be started by clicking on the saved image inside the memory card. One thing to note though is that the movies need to be in MP4 format (Google it), and if you want to convert your existing DVDs etc to this format you may want to get some specialized software.

The PSP has been out for a while now and has quickly become the greatest handheld video game device we have ever seen. You can download free PSP games for your handheld device, however these PSP game downloads can often times be quite difficult to find.

Once you start on your quest for free PSP games to download, you will come across three different options:

Download Free PSP Games - Option #1

Your first option in your quest to download free PSP games is very simple, hop on over to your favorite search engine and type in the words "download free PSP games."

Start clicking around and start browsing at all of the different websites that are offering free PSP game downloads.

Once you find the one with all of the big flashy banner ads and you start getting bombarded with pop-ups, you will know that you found the site with the free PSP game downloads.

You will be able to start downloading free PSP games at tremendously slow speeds and three days later you will have your first free PSP game downloaded and a computer completely fill with spyware and adware.

Not a very good option but hey, the PSP game downloads will be free.

Download Free PSP Games - Option #2

Well this next option doesn't really involve free PSP game downloads at all. these are the sites that will claim that they have free PSP games to download until you actually try to download one.

This free PSP game download won't actually be free until you pay for the download fee and the monthly membership. They say it's a free PSP download simply because you don't actually pay for the PSP game. You pay for the monthly membership and the per download fee.

No Thank You.
